Nancy Muth is an amazingly talented local artist. She volunteered to do artwork for one of the forty-two trains that were placed throughout town this summer (many of which can still be seen) to raise funds for Hoops Children’s Hospital. Also, she works with hitRECord, Joseph Gordon Levitt’s television show that features collaborative work from many artists via texts, images, video, and audio. How cool is that?! Among many other things, this talented artist creates stones with beautifully illustrated images. In an effort to allow others to find beauty in ordinary places, she began a scavenger hunt with these stones. My toddler and I coined them, “Nancy Stones.” Maybe not the most creative name, but you get the idea. If you follow her Facebook page, here, she will provide you with picture clues to find your very own “Nancy Stone.” Most hidden stones are yours to keep. Just check the back of each stone, to be sure.
If you’re in the Huntington area today, you have a chance to find your very own “Nancy Stone.” Just take a look at the pictures below. If you locate it, be sure to take a picture of yourself and send it to her. This is a great way to get your children out of the house to have an unexpected adventure. The stone is an added bonus, if located. Happy hunting!
