Ironton Wizardfest is a community celebration of the-boy-who-lived. It is an imaginative festival for kids of all ages to celebrate and share in their fandom of the magical world.
Festival-goers will get their fill of Wizardfest’s very own ButterBrew. They will also be able to attend classes, visit our local magical government, compete in cosplay contests, interact with their favorite magical teachers, create their own wands and potions, and of-age witches and wizards will be able to enjoy our own magical pub inspired by the most famous wizarding pubs in Great Britain. The auditorium of the Ro-Na theater will take on the spirit of the great hall from the most famous wizarding school in all of Europe.
Our region has a unique cultural aspect of wizarding life in Appalachia, and therefore we will be dedicating an area known as Heritage Alley within the festival grounds to feature Appalachian crafters, apple-cider, etc.
Photo-Op Alley will act as a large scale interactive exhibit for attendees to exercise their skills in Instagram selfies and photos with our displays inspired by scenes from our favorite book and film series.
Attendees will be able to visit Ironton’s own magical government in the Ironton City building and be sorted into their appropriate wizarding school houses.
The festival will also feature live animals, escape rooms, food, craft, and retail vendors, live music, great art, cosplay contests, classes (potion-making, defense against the dark arts, spell casting and more), workshops on herbology in a full scale greenhouse, wand making and broom building, and visits from magical creatures.
*NOTICE* Ironton Wizardfest is permitting non-magical folk to be in attendance in accordance with House Bill 2824 of the Magical Counsel of Ironton. So feel free to wear your best dress robes or festival attire!
